OVERVIEW
LEARNING

Dragonfly outdoor courses focus on experiential learning through leadership, adventure and cultural activities. Each program builds skills, encourages teamwork, and broadens the horizons of primary, secondary and university students.

Our experienced instructors not only teach young people activities such as rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, snorkelling, kayaking, and orienteering, they also make the experience meaningful with well led reflection.

Courses are well-rounded and students have additional hands-on learning in cultural and environmental pursuits. These include many activities from cooking to traditional folk puppetry, cave geology to local industry, and a lot more.

A world of discovery

From the dramatic rock formations and caves at Wulong in central southern China, to the spectacular marine environment at Kota Kinabalu in Borneo, we provide outdoor and experiential learning at its best.

Courses range from 2 to 14 days, take place in a variety of indoor and outdoor accommodation settings, with specific learning goals for ages 7 through university years.  For primary and secondary schools, our goals are closely connected to the IB Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Program curricula.

For an unforgettable educational experience, see how the Dragonfly team can help your students to learn and develop in some of the most inspirational and breath-taking locations in the world.

Personal growth for positive change. Every outdoor education program we run follows structured lesson plans based on Social and Emotional Learning goals which inspire personal development.

With close links to major international curricula, including the IB Primary Years, Middle Years and the CAS approach to learning at Diploma level, our focus is on developing the whole person.

In other words, activities such as rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, snorkelling, kayaking, or orienteering may be today’s activity…

… but the main aim is to help students to become more creative, critical and reflective thinkers. Through outdoor activities they can improve their social and emotional well-being and gain a better understanding of the world around them.

International-mindedness, personal challenge, and teamwork are key objectives.

Our Outdoor Education programs are also designed to develop intercultural understanding, guided reflection, and creating strategies for personal growth.
